Community Harvest Celebrates 26th Annual Thanksgiving Feast with Return to In-Person Dining

Community Harvest, a local nonprofit organization, will host its 26th Annual Thanksgiving Feast on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at St. Martha’s Church on Route 1 in Kennebunk. Community Harvest offers a complimentary Thanksgiving Day dinner that invites community members to come together and share in delicious food and meaningful company. This year, the organization is returning to in-person dining for the first time since 2019, and will continue to make local meal deliveries. There will be no meal pick-up option this year.

"The Community Harvest Board is thrilled to welcome longtime and new friends and neighbors for a gathered meal," said Executive Director Kerry de Bree. "The heart of Community Harvest's mission is connecting people over shared meals, and bringing this festive holiday feast back to the hall is exciting."

New this year, Community Harvest will be partnering with The Nonantum Resort and Executive Chef Steve Sicinski, who will oversee the cooking of the meal.

"We are grateful to Chef Sicinski and The Nonantum for their generous commitment of time, talent, and preparation space to ensure we can cook hundreds of meals in the days leading up to Thanksgiving," said Kerry de Bree.

Each year, Community Harvest volunteers prepare approximately 500 meals for local individuals and families, including dozens of first responders working on Thanksgiving Day.

Meals in the hall will be served buffet-style. The hall will open at 12:30 p.m., and dinner will be served at 1 p.m. Delivered meals will be packaged and cold, with heating instructions provided. Deliveries will take place Thursday morning. Community members can reserve their dining spot in the hall, request delivered meals, or sign up to volunteer for the event by calling (207) 967-1911 or our website.

All meal reservations must be made in advance by Sunday, November 24, 2024.

Community Harvest is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization of the Kennebunks that meets the needs of its neighbors through food sharing, fellowship, and financial assistance.
